Pair of Roman Architectural Etchings by Giovanni Cottafavi

Pair of copper plate etchings by G. Cottafavi, published in Rome in 1837 by Cuccioni.
Depicting the Colonne de Concezione and Hadrian's Villa, this pair is stunning in their green silk slip mats.

The pair measure 19.5 x 17 x 1" framed. No attempt has been made to remove prints from the mats and backing.

Hadrian's Villa: Full plate impression visible. Sight measures 10 3/4 x 8 3/8 inches, plate is 10 1/2 x 8 1/8 inches. Fiber breakage to the silk slip in lower left corner, only discovered when examined out of frame.

Column of the Immaculate Conception: Sight measures 11 x 8 5/8 inches. Mat extends past the plate impression.
